Why This System?

Being a therapist in private practice is so rewarding. It’s truly the best job I’ve ever had. But that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. Especially the business side of things. There’s so much to know about running your own business, and there are many aspects of business ownership. The intention of this course is to help you streamline and simplify your practice with automation and technology, with a special focus on managing new client inquiries.

When you are starting out in private practice, client inquiries can be few and far between. Believe me, I know. It was five months after I opened my practice before I saw my first client! If you’re off to a better start than that - Congratulations!! If you’re still waiting - Hang in there!!

Before you become overly busy in your practice, you will take client inquiries however they arrive - email, text message, phone call, voicemail, a message through your business social media accounts, or any other way they come through. And you will be super grateful for them too!

However, if you keep your practice open long enough there will come a time when you become overwhelmed with client inquiries popping up from every direction. And you may get to a point where you can’t remember if you returned that phone call or responded to that social media message.

Or you may get tired of the never-ending game of phone tag. You’re returning voicemails only to find that you also get a voicemail or reach a voicemail box that is full or hasn’t even been set up yet. Then you have to set up another reminder to try and reach out again. It gets tiresome and difficult to keep up with.

There’s got to be a better way!

A combination of the following led me to create my own system:

  • I don't like to answer my phone.
  • I dread returning voicemails.
  • I became tired of playing phone tag with potential clients.
  • I wanted to screen out clients who were therapist shopping (only looking for an appointment and not a therapist).
  • I wanted to connect with potential clients that were familiar with my specialties.
  • I wanted to work with clients who wanted to work with me.
  • I wanted potential clients to know my fees and availability before we talked. This allows them to have the specifics they need in order to make an informed decision about working with me.
  • I was tired of telemarketers, spam, and phone scams directed at therapists.
  • And, did I mention that I hate playing phone tag? :-)

If these sentiments resonate with you, then you’re in the right place.
